Environment and sustainability

The environmental aspect was important to happy maple founder Sophie when choosing a producer. The syrup is sustainably sourced from a natural forest in Quebec, Canada, and carefully produced using traditional craftsmanship. Harvesting takes place only once a year so that the trees have enough time to recover. By the way, the maple trees in Quebec that produce the wonderful syrup sequester carbon dioxide equivalent to 290,000 cars per year. So not only is the production of maple syrup in Quebec completely sustainable, the CO2 emissions are actually offset by a factor of eight. The maple forests are also important for the local flora and fauna. Their seeds and branches are a source of food for numerous mammals and birds.
