Maple chia fig jam
Updated: Mar 8
This simple maple fruit jam is my fave. It is easy to prepare, thickened with chia (instead of tons of extra sugar), is naturally sweetened with Happy Maple syrup, and made with real and seasonal ingredients (you can use any fruit you like).
500g fresh figs of other seasonal fruits
2 Tbsp chia seeds
1 Tbsp freshly-squeezed lemon juice
2-3 Tbsp Happy Maple Goût Délicat (up to 5 Tbsp if you like it sweeter)
Optional: Add a little fresh thyme if you want to add some "savouriness"
Cut and heat the fruits in a saucepan over low-medium heat. Stir occasionally and mash the fruits to your desired consistency.
Add Happy Maple Goût Délicat and leave to simmer for a few minutes.
Add chia seeds and lemon juice, and simmer for 2-5 minutes longer.
Fill mason jars while still hot, close with lid and turn upside down. Let cool on the lid and store in the fridge until ready to use.
